Acupuncture can be an effective method of treatment for certain conditions.


  • Pain relief in many painful conditions. It is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal pain, for example - back, shoulder, neck and leg pain.
  • Low back pain - National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE-2 009) has recommended acupuncture as one of the first line treatment modalities for non specific back pain. 
  • Successfully used to treat headaches, migraines, chronic muscle strains, sports injuries, trapped nerves and various kinds of arthritic and rheumatic pain.
  • Menstrual and menopausal symptoms, e.g. period pains and hot flushes.
  • Functional bowel or bladder problems such as IBS, irritable bladder and mild bladder incontinence.
  • Hay fever, perennial allergic rhinitis, sinus problems and chronic catarrh.
  • Skin problems such as rashes, ulcers & itching.
  • Anxiety and insomnia.
  • Dry mouth and eyes.
  • Help with stopping smoking.
